2017 JVA Junior Club Service Award Recipients

The JVA is proud to announce 8 recipients of the 2017 JVA Junior Club Service Award.

The JVA Junior Club Service Award honors junior volleyball Club Directors, Coaches and Administrators for their service to junior volleyball for at least 20 years.

The honorees listed below are currently directing, coaching or administering in a JVA member club, and were nominated by their peer(s) for their outstanding dedication to junior volleyball. The JVA is proud to acknowledge these individuals for their passion and commitment over the years.

Vicki Fleissner

NKJV (KY) Director of Coaching
27 Years of Service

As a Head Coach for her high school team at Newport Central Catholic, she led her team to the state tournament for three consecutive years. Recently as a club coach, her NKJV 15 Elite team placed 20th at AAU Nationals in 2017. Vicki has always been an excellent role model for young women and has coached many girls that have gone on to play at the collegiate level.

Cindy Gritzman

Cindy and Sean both earned the Community Improvement Award & Community Development Service Award by providing a service in our local communities, which had a positive impact in those communities. "These mean a lot to us as we have been able to "give back" and make a difference wherever possible."

Cindy and Sean both earned the Community Improvement Award & Community Development Service Award by providing a service in our local communities, which had a positive impact in those communities. "We built a business that has been able to carry a full-time staff of 6 people and a part time staff of roughly 50 people. We're able to help provide opportunities and income for people through athletic programs."

Chad Marshall

The Academy Volleyball Club (IN) 16 Elite Head Coach
24 Years of Service

Chad begins his 24th season of coaching club, youth, and high school volleyball in the central Indiana area. He is currently the Varsity Coach at West Lafayette HS and was previously the head coach for the Purdue Women's Club team, compiling a 210-36 record in the position. Prior to joining The Academy, he started the first youth volleyball club in the Lafayette area. Chad's dedication to the training process and his vast amount of experience as a coach and a player make him a terrific coach and asset to the volleyball community.

Susan Meadows

Axis Elite Volleyball Academy (SC) Master Head Coach
31 Years of Service

Susan is currently in her 30th year of teaching and coaching at Eastside High School. Coach Meadows volleyball teams have won 16 region championships, 2 upper-state championship, and 1 state championship. The Lady Eagle volleyball teams have had 2 upper-state championships and 9 upper-state championship appearances.

Scott Mebruer

High Performance-StL Executive Director
24 Years of Service

Scott played and coached in an NCAA Men's Final Four with Lewis, coached two Open National Championship teams in 1998 and 2007. He has coached dozens of Junior and NCAA All-Americans including two Olympic Medalists. He has been the Executive Director of HPSTL for 18 years where he has seen over 60 alums go on to be collegiate coaches.

Harold "Skip" Weston

Richmond Volleyball Club (VA) Junior Director
20 Years of Service

Skip was one of the first to coach in 1989 when girls' volleyball was introduced as a High School sport in the Greater Richmond area. As the Director of Programs and Facilities for RVC, he is the event coordinator and tournament director for the Monument City Classic in its 14th year with 300 teams and the Boy's East Coast Championships & South Atlantic Championships with over 500 teams. Skip also serves as the president/commissioner of the USAV Old Dominion Region.

Jen Woolf

NKJV (KY) Club Director
27 Years of Service

Jen played at perennial State Powerhouse Mt Notre Dame High School in Ohio, and then played college volleyball at Thomas More College in KY. She has over 200 wins at the High School level, numerous District and Regional High School appearances and her team was 2007 State Runner-Up as coach of Notre Dame Academy.
